ZURGAADAI HORSE ARCHERY CLUB
Our programs run through Zurgaadai, a horse archery club I co-founded with fellow archers. It is one of the most active horse archery clubs in Mongolia. Over the past years, we have taught more than 150 local students and more than 100 international students.
Zurgaadai trains in two places, each with its own purpose:Italic
The Indoor Training Center is where ground archery is perfected. Good horse archery starts with a solid draw, stance and release, and the indoor center lets archers build those fundamentals all year round. Through the Mongolian winter, it is where archers prepare for the summer season, so they are ready to combine riding and shooting on a galloping horse when the weather warms.
The Horse Archery Training Center is where you take your shooting onto horseback. You ride trained horse archery horses and move step by step from slow rides to shooting at speed.
Our Camp
Guests stay in traditional Mongolian gers and eat simple, traditional Mongolian meals. Training is done in small groups of up to eight, so every student gets personal attention. You use traditional equipment and wear a deel during your stay, and you spend your days outdoors in open countryside, riding, shooting and learning.
